i was the first spectator to leave an open rehearsal theater play after its "end". was i not-appropriate?
hello
a few hours ago i attended an open rehearsal in a theater scene of the local national theatre (greece)
it was my first participation in an open rehearsal (as a spectator)
there was action for about 1.30 hours, then a break, then action for another 1.30 hours, then break, and finally the "end" of the show (sorry, i dont know the theatre terminology well)
during the last 30 minites of the show, i felt it was gonna "end" anytime soon, i think the concept was for each actor of the 14-person crew to perform individually some kind of an epilogue
in the last scene, actors put some lipstick on their lips and faces, kissed each other etc
finally (?) the scene ended and
we the spectators clapped for a while and - im not sure about this - the actors started to rub-clean their faces from the lipstick while being on the stage
we were about 15 spectators in the theater and when this happened we looked at each other somewhat akwardly like "ok, the show is over, should we stand up and leave now?"
so, after about 1-2 minites after actors started to clean their faces, i just stood up, walked through the stage, said "bye" to an usher, and walked out the theater
to be honest, i thought to say something like "thank you for the performance, bye" to the crew, but they were somewhat busy and couldnt make an eye contact with the director, so i just stood up and walked out
do you think i was not-appropriate?
its also my first reddit post, sorry if i did something wrong
thank you
