Personal Milestone #7

Personal Milestone #7

So, I haven’t posted here in a little while because I took a break from Elden Ring. Between school ramping up and other games in my backlog, it’s been a while.

But now I’m back and I’m happy to report I have exorcised one of the biggest demons of my time in Elden Ring so far. Or rather two.

I have finally beaten BOTH of the Cleanrot Knights in the Abandoned Cave.

By the Fingers, when I tell you the amount of runes I have lost in this cave and the amount of cave moss I harvested looking for scarlet rot curing items before I finally gave up on it.

But then, while exploring Liurnia, I FINALLY learned the Incantation that cleanses scarlet rot. Even with that, I had to use my skeleton militia (I call them Ossy Osborne and Humerus). But I FINALLY beat them.

The run back through that cave is brutal, but getting the gold scarab talisman sounds pretty promising. So I’m just happy I made it.

Sadly, I still haven’t figured out how to climb down that canyon and kill that golem that keeps shooting at me on the cliff. I was hoping this was the way. But we take those.

Thoughts on Hook’s Career in AEW

I didn’t particularly care for Hook for a long time. I thought they leaned pretty heavily into his Dad’s reputation. Plus his look just felt off to me. I don’t know what it is, but something about his look makes him look out of place in AEW.

That said, he’s still only 27. He’s potentially got decades of a career ahead of him. And despite what I said about his looks, he’s got some great moves and he’s way stronger than he looks. I saw his match with Kevin Knight and it was a banger from both sides.

Do you guys think Hook is going to be as big a deal as Samoa Joe or Shibata someday or is he eternally the Robin of the Opps?

Sadly I didn’t start watching AEW until fall 2024, so I never got to see Hook and Danhausen together.
