For those who prepared for GATE Civil mostly by themselves — how did you stay accountable?

I'm preparing for GATE 2027 Civil and studying mostly online/from home. My biggest challenge isn't finding lectures or study material; it's maintaining consistency and making sure I'm actually completing what I planned.

For those who prepared seriously for GATE while studying mostly alone:

Did you have a mentor/study partner/accountability system?

Did someone check your progress regularly?

How did you set weekly targets and make sure you completed them?

If you had to prepare alone again, what system would you follow?

I'd especially like to hear from people who have already cleared GATE Civil and can share what actually worked for them.

For those preparing for GATE through online lectures, how do you keep yourself accountable?

I’m preparing through recorded/online lectures, and sometimes it’s difficult to stay consistent without the structure of offline coaching.

How many lectures do you usually aim to complete in a day? Do you set a fixed number of hours, lectures, or topics as your daily target?

Also, how do you balance lectures with PYQs, revision, and practice without falling behind?

Would love to hear how others are managing their daily routine and keeping themselves accountable.

Geotechnical Engineering feels completely new for GATE

I’m preparing for GATE Civil. I studied Geotechnical Engineering during my semester exams through self-study, but for GATE preparation, it feels almost completely new to me.

My course has around 69 lectures, so I’m a bit worried about the time it will take to complete everything properly.

For those who have prepared Geotechnical for GATE, how should I approach it? Should I watch all the lectures from scratch, or focus on specific important topics and then practice PYQs?

Any advice on how to efficiently cover Geotech for GATE would be really helpful.

How should I actually study for GATE CE 2027?

Hi everyone!

I'm preparing for GATE CE 2027. Can anyone guide me on how to actually study effectively for GATE? I understand that just watching lectures isn't enough. What should I do after completing a lecture — practice questions, PYQs, revision, notes, etc.?
