Is it possible to ask your supervisor to apply funds with you?
I'm an international student and have been here for a while, both studying and working, currently i got an offer for an MPhil/PhD but didnt get the funding. :( However my financial status is good enough to cover my first year self-funded if i need to and i also have a job that i can work part-time during my term time. I was looking through the external funding, especially with ESRC. i was disappointed that i couldnt get the studentship and i know it's harder to apply for funding when you are an ongoing student but is it possible to ask your supervisor to apply for funding for you if your project is good enough and also aligns with what they do? If not is there any small grants that could help me cover a part of my study? my previous tutor sends me a small funding for editorial but it's really small.
