Do you think apps changed how we meet people in general, even platonically?

I've noticed friend-making feels like it's picked up some of the same patterns as apps, matching, swiping through events, a bit of a numbers game. Curious if other people feel that shift too, or if I'm overthinking it. How do you meet new people when you are older?
