I was just "diagnosed" and don't know what to do
I (29F) had a wellness check since my company offered that and it was something I've never done before. I admit my habits are not good and diabetes runs in my family so there was always that risk, but at the end of all the checkups the doctor that was supposed to gave me a overall explanation simply said "I am missing a few more tests but with your diabetic diagnosis they are not necessary" and then he went on on the results, while I was in shook because those were news to me and I didn't payed attention to the rest of the session.
He didn't explained in detail how or what to do, and I think he assumed that I knew about it? I felt ashamed to be honest and didnt asked further than who should I talk about it and am now searching for an specialist to clear my doubts.
I am still processing it, its just been 2 days but I am now overwhelmed and analyzing everything before I eat and looking where I could get help, and I shared this with my family and my dad basically told me I did this to myself and that now I'm gonna die young, which didn't helped at all. I just wanted somewhere to vent all this, I just wish doctors (and people) had more tact in this situations. I'm gonna do my best to stay motivated and do better for myself.
