LDL cholesterol concern - Trying to fix with diet, meds and quality sleep.
I’m 35M and 5’10 tall (No major family history of heart or metabolic issues but I was drinking frequently and few times smoking in parties and started my own business with more of uncertainty around wherein anxiety were high initially)
Recent - TMT, 2D echo & ECG all normal.
My LDL got stuck at 140-170 levels since 2023 and even after diet crash, minor stresses with moderate exercises and poor quality sleep (insomnia with health anxiety induced sleep issues) never seen any great change in LDL but just kept rising from 130 to 160 and final saw 175 where my GP asked me to consider low statin until it stays in 70-100 levels for long term (6-8 months).
Wherein same duration weight came down from 94kgs to 84kgs in 8-10 months wherein TGL dropped from 200 to 100 and HDL remained in low range 38-45 levels but LDL remained on higher side with stubborn belly waist around 30-40 which slightly reduced from 42-43 inches so finally my GP started low dose 10mg Statin wherein I could see levels of 70-75 in just few weeks without adding more exercise and now am taking 5mg rosuvastatin with antidepressants like 12.5mg SSRI Paroxetene with 0.25mg Benzo every night to have smooth non-stop 7-8 hours good bed time.
Taking Consistent Avg. 8-10k daily steps and 15-20 mins of low intensity strength training & brisk walk every day.
What more I can do ? Or it’s enough for me stop worrying and start doing more of outdoors and other routine work activities?
Never thought of such metabolic issues to face in my life. But I have been eating junks and partying out carelessly from my mid to late 20s which is affecting me now.
