College Crisis
Hi, I'm currently about to enter my senior year of high school and have been urged to start my college essays/application process now. I want to get my bachelors in sociology because that is the only subject I've ever truly been interested in, but am not sure what specific job to aim for. Financially, my family and I are struggling to live off of my mother's income, as my father does not live with us anymore for personal reasons. I am ranked 4/149 students in my class with a 4.6 GPA. I've looked into being a social worker but have heard that most people are unhappy with that career, which has made me form doubts about entering the sociology field. Money has also played another role in this crisis since most jobs surrounding sociology aren't stable salaries in Texas (I'm thinking around 60k is a good yearly salary???). I'm mainly aiming at applying to a college that will be able to cover my full tuition and get a degree in sociology, I just don't know if it's worth it or not. To whoever thinks it isn't, please let me know any alternate suggestions that you have. I know I don't have to know my whole life plan now, but I just want to be able to get a head start.
