I have interest in math (particularly ALGEBRA: probability, pnc, etc) and would like to pursue a quant job in the future. What should my pathway look like?

17yr old here. My qualifications till now: 96% in CBSE 10th boards, 94% in Telangana State Board (full marks in maths in both boards), 95%ile in JEE main (with 95%ile in math).

I have given ISI and CMI entrance exams too, however I don't think I will get in.
(Currently preparing for BITSAT session2 as well)

I have a safe seat in VIT Chennai EEE as of now.

Coming to the main point: Math has always been my favourite subject (algebra in particular) & I like programming too (I'm practising Java and Python since 8th grade.. will learn C++ soon) and when i learnt about quant, it became my dream job.

I know you can get a quant job in India only if you're from top 7 IITs or ISI or CMI. (And I know I'm not getting into either of them... although results haven't been announced)

My questions are:

  1. if I get into BITs, can I get a quant job after grad?
  2. if not BITs, I will be in VIT Chennai. After that, if I take up masters in ISI, can I get a quant job then?
  3. if not masters in ISI, will a PhD in top foreign universities help me get a job in quant?

TL;DR: realistic way to get a quant job if i graduate from non-IIT? (i am willing to put in the effort)
