Marriage-Based adjustment of status Approved 💚
Our timeline (Oakland Park / South Florida field office):
• I-130 & I-485 submitted: January 16, 2026
• Interview scheduled: February 25, 2026
• Marriage interview: April 16, 2026
• I-130 approved: May 18, 2026
• I-485 approved: May 19, 2026
Interview details:
• Interviewed together (not separated)
• Interview lasted around 45 minutes
• Honestly, the interview was not bad, we were just nervous
• It felt more conversational than intense
• Officer asked questions about:
- birthdays
- how we met
- if we wanted kids
- previous relationships (which honestly caught me off guard lol) • The officer also talked a little about her own husband/family during the interview
Evidence we submitted:
• Joint lease
• Joint phone bill
• Authorized user/shared credit card access
• Photos together
• A few emails/documents together
We actually did NOT submit a huge amount of evidence or travel evidence yet. We also never received an RFE.
After interview:
• Status changed to “Case Is Being Actively Reviewed”
• USCIS said “nothing is outstanding at this time”
• No second interview
• No additional evidence requested
I’ll be honest, I was sad we didn’t hear “approved” the same day and the silence after interview made me anxious. Reddit honestly helped me a lot during that time, so I wanted to come back and share our timeline in case someone else is stressing right now.
If you leave your interview with that paper saying your case is under review, try not to panic. We literally just waited, prayed, and about a month later everything was approved.
Wishing everyone good news soon 🤍
