Tips / guide for beginners / people wanting to try and become vegan?
Hey thanks for reading.
I’ve been with a vegetarian partner for over 3 years now. They’re a wonderful person, and despite me being a non descript enjoyer of all food, it has never bothered them at all. They are not pushy at all. When they first gave up meat, they had been told due to health reasons they should minimize their consumption of meat products in general by their doctor anyways.
They showed me a documentary about 3 days ago I think that has kept popping into my head, cowspiracy I think it was called.
I’ve just enjoyed food my whole life, doesn’t matter what it was. I had made attempts in my younger years to try and be vegetarian, but that did not go well just because of an unsupportive father. I’ve enjoyed every vegan dish I’ve tried and have only really ever continued eating meat with my partner just due to cravings.
Now that I’m grown and with my vegetarian partner, it seems actually really accomplishable to become a vegetarian now. However, after watching that movie it’s hard to really enjoy any animal product to be honest. Like, personally I’d rather just become vegan but it seems SO difficult in my area where I live. The only reason my partner has not made the adjustment to vegan is because it truly does seem hard to find restaurants, ingredients sometimes, and really a lot of things in a snap just abiding by being a vegetarian here in my area of US. Just looking for a good beginner resource. I have had such a hard time using search engines online… genuinely seems hard to find the actual useful stuff for things now in general unless you make exactly what you need.
Any tips / videos / subreddits / books would be appreciated.
