Meaning of “anpacken”
Hi everyone,🙂🙂I’m learning German and I’m a bit confused about the verb “anpacken”.
I understand expressions like:
“Wenn alle mit anpacken, haben wir die Sachen schnell weggeschafft.”
Oder „Und jetzt pack mit an!“
Here “mit anpacken” clearly means something like “help out” or “pitch in”.
But I recently saw this sentence:
“Nico will anpacken – beruflich und privat. Er wollte immer ’n Handwerk lernen.”
This confused me🫠🫠, because there is no object and no “mit”.
To native speakers:
What exactly does “anpacken” mean here?
Does it still belong to the same meaning as “mit anpacken”, just in a broader sense (“be hands-on”, “like practical work”)?
Or is it closer to another dictionary meaning?
I’d really appreciate a natural explanation of how Germans understand this sentence.
I often see the following sentences on job websites:
**“Du packst gerne an.”**
**“Du packst gerne mit an.”**
What do they each mean in English, and what is the difference between them?
I would appreciate a very detailed explanation of “anpacken” and “mit anpacken”
Ich kann sie(anpacken und mit anpacken)überhaupt nicht verstehen.
Kann jemand mir helfen?😭😭
