Hello! I have a ZZ plant that has been with me almost 5 years. It’s never given me much issue at all.

But, the past few months I’ve noticed that entire stalks will slowly yellow and then wither away. It used to be that these would be accompanied by new growth; but, the last several have not had new shoots come up.

The plant is beginning to bare out and I’m worried there’s something more systemic. No pests that I can see, and the soil feels dry to me. It sits on a south facing exposure through blinds in Southern California sun, though I’m not sure exactly how many hours of direct sunlight it sees, if any. I used to water once a week as that’s what the plant seemed to like but I’ve since dialed it down to once a month.

Does anyone have any ideas on why this could be happening?
