Hey guys! Is the calypso train running in June? If yes, how do we get the tickets from Ella to Demodara and back to Ella?

Would greatly appreciate any help!

Trying to balance nature, cafés, beaches, nightlife, and not making it too exhausting.

Route:
Colombo → Sigiriya → Nuwara Eliya → Ella → Arugam Bay → Hiriketiya/Mirissa → Colombo

Current Plan

21 June — Arrive Colombo → Sigiriya

Land at 4 AM
Private cab to Sigiriya
Relax + Pidurangala Rock for sunset

22 June — Sigiriya → Pinnawala → Nuwara Eliya

Sunrise at Sigiriya Rock
Stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage for lunch
Continue to Nuwara Eliya
Maybe stop at waterfalls/tea plantations on the way

23 June — Nuwara Eliya → Ella

Visit Seetha Amman Temple
Scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella
Chill evening in Ella

24 June — Ella
Thinking of keeping this slow and only doing 2–3 things:

Little Adam’s Peak
Nine Arches Bridge
Ravana Falls

25 June — Ella → Arugam Bay

Private cab
Relaxed beach evening

26 June — Arugam Bay

Surf lesson
Whiskey Point sunrise
Lagoon safari / elephant spotting
Beach party vibes at night

27 June — Arugam Bay → South Coast
This seems like the roughest travel day (~6–7+ hrs).
Trying to decide between:

Hiriketiya for cafés/slower vibe
Mirissa for nightlife/more happening atmosphere

28 June — South Coast chill day
Mostly just beach cafés, cocktails, relaxing

29 June — Back to Colombo + flight

Some questions that I have-

1. Could use some suggestions on Hostels that would be happy to accommodate us with an early check in. We will be reaching Sigiriya at 10-11 AM.
2. Any hidden gems we should add?
3. Overall what do you guys think?
