Landlord gaslighted me about mold in my HVAC for 6+ months, now remediation found this behind the unit. How bad is it?
PA. My landlord/property management company has been gaslighting me for months, insisting there was no mold in my HVAC unit, even though their own engineering consultant firm said there was a problem and recommended removing the drywall and doing mold remediation.
I also paid for my own professional mold inspection, and that report found Stachybotrys/Memnoniella in the apartment air, plus actively growing mold inside the HVAC unit.
I lived with this for 6+ months while my symptoms kept getting worse. At one point, I was coughing up blood, which scared me enough that I left the apartment and started staying with my partner. They only finally brought in a mold remediation company after I told them I was getting a lawyer. This is what they found behind the HVAC unit.
How bad is this? Also, has anyone dealt with a landlord/property manager gaslighting them about mold until it became impossible to deny?
