If you’re in a long term relationship and both decide to get a dog it’s both of the partners responsibility
Not including couples who have a dog before the relationship started but I’ve noticed it’s a trend for people to get a dog with their partner and decide it’s only one of the partners dog. Especially when in those relationships both partners are expected to care for the dog so it’s obviously both partners dog?? But then will say “oh it’s MY dog not OUR dog” but you both decided to get the dog so yes it is? Like I guess if really only one of you is gonna care for the dog and the other person is gonna completely ignore it then yeah but who would actually do that? It’s both of your dog and both of your responsibilities. I know there might be some nuance but I feel like it’s dumb-just say “our dog”
