32gb is looking like a must these days

What has been your experience with the OG Legion Go? 16gb still kicking it? I am playing FF7 Rebirth and consuming over 18gb ram and 10gb vram which goes as high as 11gb. It seems 32gb is necessary for future proof. Not sure if other games consume resources as this. If yes, which titles?

Legion Go S Z1E price down at BestBuy Canada

An opportunity to get one of these if you have been holding out. Had been $2k for a long while.

Not sure how i feel.

I got this Legion Go S Z1 Extreme with 2 cases, a dbrand Case, stickers and matte screen protector on marketplace yesterday for a very good price 750 CAD (around 530USD). Like brand new. 6 months warranty allegedly included ( i havent checked yet).

Thing is i have an OG Legion Go and got this cos of the ram and VRR. I never use the detachable controllers on the OG and never used them on my Switch either. Some games have been giving me heaches with vram caps and micro stutters. The OG feels like a ritual whenever i wanna play too cos of the size. All those issues are addressed with this but damn, i never thought the difference in screen size will be so jarring. Moving from the OG to the Go S immediately feels like i am less immersed and peeping into the screen. Might get used to it later and will have to change this matte screen protector. I don't like glare but the matte feels like it dulls the colours, contrast and brightness.

Another noticeable difference is the build quality. The Go S sure feels cheap with the triggers and bumpers. Like cheap plastic and is not satisfying like the OG. The analog sticks are softer too. Not surprised with the trackpad so i can't complain as i was expecting it. Will use it for a while before i decide which of them to get rid of.

I am new to this Steam OS thing. Will appreciate tips and tricks. Started out with decky loader but will welcome useful plugins and other quality of life settings.

Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

In a dilemma and need opinions.

I got a new Legion Go two weeks ago for a great price. Since then i have seen 3 different Legion Go S Z1E for almost same price i got the OG Go. I recently ran into "out of memory" issues using Lossless scaling on the OG while playing Final Fantasy Rebirth and i cant shake the feeling that i will need the larger vram of the Go S. I dont care about Steam OS, as i have lots of games on other platforms and i will use the Go for design work when i travel. I love everything about the OG, the size, windows and ergonomics included but the 32gb ram and VRR of the Legion Go S screams at me.

On the other hand, i am worried fixing buttons will be a hassle in the near future and prefer the removable controllers and tablet of the OG. The tiny touchpad on the Go S will be another pain point too.

Does the 32gb ram make a significant difference in performance and overall experience and worth the switch?

FSR 4.1.1 fixed the blurry mess with upscaling 007 First Light. Looking crispy sharp at 800p, fixed the hair textures and drastically removed shimmering on the original Legion Go. Feels like magic.
