Are coding agents ahead because software already has a production environment?

Coding agents feel more useful than many other AI agents. One possible reason is that software engineering already has repositories, tests, Cl, pull requests, issues , version history, and deployment pipelines. That means AI generated work can be reviewed, tested, reverted and shipped in a structured way.

In other domains,AI output often lands in messy workflows without clear state, ownership , or verification . Are coding agents more useful mainly because software already has better production infrastructure ?
