Question about tuning down to Drop B with PitchShifter

Hi,

Maybe a stupid question, but I could not figure out.

I have Sansamp Bass Driver DI Version 1, and Boss XS-100 PitchShifter.

And I want to tune down to Drop B to llay Slipknot songs.

I guess I have to make it first, D A D G, by tuning down the upper string physically.

And then tune down 3 semitones using PitchShifter to have B Gb B E, is it correct?

Issue is, whenever I use tuneDown option, I feel, sound is dropping in my signal chain? Like I do not hear anything, it feels like it is dropping 20dB or so.

Does anyone else have same issue, how did you solve it?

Maybe my Sansamp settings are causing this? Usually I have Drive at 12 o'clock, Bass at 1 o'clock, Treble 4 o'clock, Presence 5 o'clock at Sansamp. I set these to achieve Tool's tone somehow.

But maybe these settings are affecting when I tune down to B?

I am open to any suggestions

Tool-Schism Bass Tone Help

Hi,

I want to get close to Justin Chancellor's tone in Schism. I got somewhere close, but I lack some parts, could anyone help me?

So, I have Sansamp Driver DI(V.1), Boss MT2 Distortion, Boss XS-100 PitchShifter.

I tried to play the song from beginning to end twice. Once with MT2 disabled and once with MT2 enabled but distortion is somehow small.

I think I got close to this "metallic" sound, I simply increased Presence and Treble on Sansamp, tried to use the pick in an angle.

But still, I lack this "muddy" sound that he is using, what is it? More distortion? Do I need another pedal, like Comoressor/Reverb etc

Could anyone have suggestions?
