In your country or state, are you able to modify your car with still respecting the law and what’s the limitations ?

In France, you can basically change nothing. You can change parts only if you car has been homologated with it. For exemple there is a spoiler in option for your car and you don’t have it, then you can install it. But if the spoiler comes from a sport version that has another homologation you can’t.

If you modify it, the cops can take it out of roads until it’s back to factory configuration. You may fail the technical inspection (every 2 years) depending the changes made. And the worst one is your insurance no longer covers you so if you have a crash with injured people you may end paying all your life.
