Looking for information on NCR underground tunnel system / legacy utility corridors in Dayton
Hey everyone,
I’ve been researching Dayton’s historic NCR industrial footprint and the old underground tunnel/utility network that reportedly connected parts of the NCR campus and nearby buildings.
I know most of it has been demolished, sealed, or repurposed over the years, but I’m trying to better understand what still exists today in terms of:
Any remaining visible structural remnants (sealed doors, unsealed doors, basement connections, utility rooms, etc.)
Historical maps or engineering diagrams of the NCR tunnel/utility layout
Known locations where remnants were documented or preserved
Publicly accessible historical records, photos, or surveys
Any information on how the system connected into downtown infrastructure or river-adjacent industrial buildings
Dayton has a really unique industrial history and I’m trying to document how extensive the NCR underground systems actually were compared to what’s left today.
If anyone has knowledge, old maps, photos, or even stories from working in those buildings, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
