XC40 1.5 T4 PHEV worth it or not?

I’m stuck between 2 models:

2020 1.5 T3 R design (£17k)
2022 1.5 T4 PHEV R Design (£19k)

My commute is around 20 miles per day and I’d use a granny charger overnight.

Financially I’m trying to figure out long term which would be better option including running costs.

• How many miles realistically do you get on your PHEV?

• Is the £2k extra for the hybrid worth it or should I just stick to the T3 petrol?

Need help deciding - PHEV or EV?

This is my first time looking at anything remotely electric-wise (always had petrol/diesel) and hoping to get some advice or what to think about before deciding.

Heres my situation.

  • we'll be buying used 2022-2023 plate
  • we'll be putting £6k cash down on the vehicle from savings
  • we'll be taking a loan at 7.8% over 48 months for the rest
  • the difference in price between PHEV 10.7kwh (£18.5K) or EV 60kwh (£19.5k) is about £1000
  • looking around 35-40k miles
  • covering 10-12k miles annually
  • average daily commute 15-25 miles
  • potentially to do 200 mile (one-way) trips once everyone few months
  • we'll be mainly charging from home overnight but if we're away we'll charge at the accommodation

I know its an ambiguous question but, we're trying to weigh up the best choice for our use-case, what would be the best option financially to choose based on our info here? Any bad recurring faults with either of these?

How many miles is too many miles to buy a used XC40?

I'm currently looking for an XC40 2020 R Design. Struggling to find one less than 45k miles within our budget.

Would you say 45k miles is too high or ok? We plan to keep it for a minimum of 6 years

Sony full frame users - what lens would compliment my collection?

As the title suggests really.

I shoot; documentary adventure travel/wide landscapes, airbnbs/accommodation & on occasions weddings.

My current collection is:

Sigma 16mm 1.4

Sony FE 35mm 1.8

Sony FE 50mm 1.8

I'm more than happy to upgrade the focal length quality to a better lens or go for a zoom lens.

Budget is around £1500, but happy to stretch it if it means getting one very good lens I can have attached to my camera 80% of the time. I do love prime lenses however I'm started to get a little fed up of taking all my lenses and swapping them out each time or having to decide on just one lens to carry if I'm packing light for a day out.

BONUS would be that the lens performs well for videography too, I'm by no means a videography however I'm starting to learn and develop my skills to branch down this route when I feel more confident.

New here! Would love handsfree leash recommendations

Strictly speaking my setup isn't just for running with my buddy.

We do a lot of UK hiking in the Lake District and trail running in our local forest. I wanted to get the best all-round setup I can for now.

I've got a GSP and just purchased the Non-Stop Rock Harness Long.

My setup criteria was:

  • Leash must be handsfree for scrambling and trail running
  • Harness must be supportive and balance his weight when lifting him over obstacles
  • Harness must be breathable and dry quickly

The one thing I'm struggling to decide on is a leash though.

What length would you recommend? I was thinking around 2m

What brands would you recommend in the UK?

Any other spec you'd recommend?
