What triggers perianal abscess ?

This community has helped a lot in understanding this ailment. I want to ask this important question - What triggers an abscess ?

My personal observation after having multiple abscesses over the past 6 years is - 1. Getting constipated by eating less fiber food 2. Eating spicy food (Indian - biryani or pickle or chilli etc.).

Would avoiding these prevent an abscess from occurring.

My personnel story - after suffering through a recent painful abscess which resulted in fainting due to pain and ER visit for draining I finally met a Colorectal surgeon.

What I liked about my visit to colorectal surgeon is - He explained me clearly that hemorrhoids are not the cause of the abscess but I have a fistula. He drew and showed me my problem.

What I did not like is - He wanted to experiment something called BioHelix on me. He told the first surgery will be to place a seton and there could be multiple surgeries after the first surgery. He would only tell after the first surgery how many surgeries I need. Best case being one surgery after placing the seton.

I decided myself for now that I will not go for the surgery and I will be more careful with my diet and bowel moment because abscess is the main problem.

I want to take help from this community on What is the trigger for abscess ? Is there anything that we can do when we know that an abscess is going to occur. In my personnel observation after so many abscesses is I know I am getting an abscess but I am helpless it keeps swelling until it becomes unbearable.

And the worst problem in USA is we dont get a surgeon appointment. The only option is to visit ER.
