Need advice, possible malware or just paranoia?
hello everyone, recently i noticed some suspicious behavior on my android phone and they started to get me paranoid a little, i really need some advice.
a few months ago i had an email from a company which has an app im using frequently that says they noticed my personal info was available online and they reset my password for security concerns, at first it seemed like a phishing attempt to me but when i checked the app i was logged out from my account and i did a password reset from the official app so i tried not to overthink about it and i hoped that it was just a usual data breach. later i noticed some weird stuff going on with my phone for example when i unlock my phone there was open tabs and apps that i dont remember opening etc but again i was hoping that it was just a simple glitch or some poor technology problems. i wanted to be sure so i downloaded sophos intercept x and scanned my phone, there was nothing wrong according to the app, i also did scans with my built in security tools which is using avast engine, as the result there was nothing suspicious. then a few days ago i got a verification code from facebook via whatsapp but what makes it strange is i dont have a facebook account since over ten years. then i checked my phone number on the "facebook find my account" page so i found out that my number was linked to an account with an email i dont know. maybe it sounds stupid but both the email and the verification code i mentioned were sent to me around 7am so that causes me to think they could be parts of cyber attacks. what makes me think i might have an info stealer is that i got a verification code and it seems that the person has succesfully created an account or linked my phone number to an account so they accessed the verification code i recieved. i checked my other social media accounts and i couldnt find any suspicious activity but still im concerned.
im using an almost three years old android phone with android 15 funtouch version, this version has lots of additional system built in apps and services so i cant make sure if there is any apps/files that may be malicious and it drives me crazy.
*im aware its a long text and i would appreciate if anyone could help. briefly, should i be worried and take any actions?
