Hypermobility in back of hands/knuckles
Any suggestions for exercises to strengthen hand joints for helping with hypermobility in back of hands and knuckles? I’ve struggled with pain from it for 5 years now but I don’t do enough to help myself. I have a resistance band and was sent suggestions for strengthening exercises by physiotherapy when I spoke to them few years ago but lost the sheet.
I use a grip strengthener every day to help ease the pain, and it temporarily slightly reduces it but it doesn’t seem to be actually helping.
The pain tends to be in the back of my hands and the bottom of my thumb, one of my problems is I always feel the need to stretch my fingers back when it hurts, but I know over-stretching my hypermobile fingers won’t be doing me any good. Plus I definitely use my phone and iPad too much.
I have one of those long resistance bands and a grip strengthener, I’d also be willing to buy more things if they’d help
