Does anyone else feel completely overwhelmed by their sample library?
Hey producers/musicians,
I originally built this only for myself because I got tired of digging through endless sample folders in FL Studio/Ableton.
At some point I realized I had more than 400GB of samples, but I was probably only using like 5% of them. The rest I either completely forgot existed or could never find again when I actually needed them.
And honestly, searching for sounds inside FL Studio/Ableton just never felt good to me:
- endless folder diving
- no real intelligent tagging
- weak search systems
- no real understanding of moods/vibes
- everything feels super manual and outdated
I wanted something that felt more like Splice instead of a traditional file explorer.
So I made a local AI-powered sample manager that:
- auto-detects instruments, moods, BPM, key, scale, languages, vocal types, etc.
- lets you search samples naturally
- has an AI chat assistant connected to your own sample library
- creates “stacks” of sounds that fit together automatically (soon)
- gives you smart recommendations based on your searches, the sounds you use, and even conversations with the AI assistant (soon)
- surfaces forgotten sounds and sample packs from your library that match your current vibe/workflow
- works without endless folder diving
I’m wondering if other producers feel the same frustration or if I’m just insane lol.
Here’s a preview of the app:
Would love honest feedback before I decide whether to release it publicly.
Thanks !!
