Pre-Action Protocol Response
Hi everyone! My husband and I have been working full-time in the UK on visas for the past 3 years, and we wanted to invite my family to visit us here for the first time.
Due to personal circumstances, my dad was unable to travel, so we only applied for a UK visit visa for my mum (sponsored by my dad) and my brother (who sponsored himself). Unfortunately, both visas were refused because of financial concerns.
We submitted a PAP shortly after the refusals, and on 15 February 2026 we were informed that the decisions would be reconsidered within 3 months. My mum’s refusal was overturned after about 2 months, but it has now been 3 months and we still haven’t received any update regarding my brother’s reconsideration.
A few details:
My brother had significantly more savings than my dad.
Although the applications were submitted separately, we clearly stated that my mum and brother would be travelling together for 10 days, and we included each other’s ID details in both applications.
I also submitted a paid enquiry today to request an update.
Has anyone experienced something similar where PAPs were submitted at the same time, but the responses came back at different times?
