I got a notification to recertify my current repayment plan (ICR), but it says that if I don't recertify, my estimated payment will be about $200 less than it currently is per month. I'm about 12 payments away from forgiveness on this current repayment plan and I don't want to risk the payments not counting, but you don't get kicked off the repayment plan right? I know it isn't typical to have a reduction in payment if you fail to recertify, but am I missing something here? Is there any benefit to recertifying in this case or should I just let it ride?
