My 3-year-old Portuguese Water Dog is healthy, gets daily exercise, and eats only high-quality dog food.
Yesterday, she was standing and drinking water from a fountain. When she lowered her head afterward, she suddenly stopped, became unsteady, staggered, and fainted.
She has already had blood tests and a cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram), and everything came back normal. The veterinarian thinks it may have been a temporary drop in blood pressure, but if it happens again, it could be a sign of epilepsy.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their dog? I would really appreciate any advice on what the next steps should be.
