Milky Way Sony a7iv & a7iii astromod [oc]

Panoramic nightscape captured in the surroundings of Lavaderos de la Reina, where the silence of the high mountains and the purity of the sky come together to create a deeply immersive scene. This composition aims to highlight the richness of the deep sky, with special emphasis on hydrogen-alpha structures, integrating an advanced technical workflow to maximize detail and signal.

The sky is built from a mosaic of 7 panels with 6 shots each, captured using a Sony A7III astromodified, paired with a Sony 1.8 at f/1.8, at ISO 800 and 91 seconds per exposure, all tracked with a Benro Polaris to ensure precision and sharpness across every panel.

To enhance the H-alpha signal, a dedicated capture was carried out using an MSM Nomad tracking system, along with a Sony A7III astromodified equipped with an Astronomik Ha MaxFR filter and a Sigma 28-45 f/1.8 at f/1.8, with exposures of 216 seconds, stacking a total of 21 frames to bring out depth and contrast in the nebulae.

The foreground, captured separately to preserve detail and dynamic range, was shot with a Sony A7IV and a Sony 14mm f/1.8 GM at f/2.8, at ISO 800 and 30 seconds, creating a solid and natural base for blending with the sky.

Additionally, part of the sky includes exposures taken with the Capture The Night filter by Dan Zafra, adding extra contrast and helping to control light pollution.

An image that blends technique, planning, and passion for large-format panoramic astrophotography.
