Doctor and physio give completely opposite advice.

Hey guys, I tore my ACL playing football back in December and delayed the surgery until January cause I didn't want to go through the surgery trauma during Christmas. The MRI showed only a torn ACL, but when the doctor cut me open he figured out the outter meniscus was also in pretty bad shape. That said, he managed to repair it instead of performing meniscectomy which I'm pretty glad about.

I started going to my team's physio about a month after the surgery. I've heard people start physio sooner but the doctor told me to wait until he clears me.

Now here comes the biggest problem. Throughout this whole journey, I have noticed that the doctor's advise severely mismatches that of the physio. One concrete example is that now (4.5 months post op) the doctor is still holding back when it comes to
leg extensions while the physio says we are already late. Doctor also considers arthroscopy to check how the meniscus is doing as he states that an MRI cannot really tell us what is going on inside the knee, but the physio laughed at the idea of another surgery, even minor, saying something along the lines of "If your meniscus wasn't healing properly, you'd know".

I just want to know if you guys have had a similar experience and honestly, who should I listen to? I do feel good to start doing leg extensions and loading the leg properly but I don't wanna damage or
loosen the graft. Also, I can't really say that I'm afraid to do an arthroscopy if need be but I certainly don't want to unnecessarily push rehab back.

Thanks in advance
