Home buyers insurance >6 months
Hi, I’ve had an offer accepted recently and was planning on getting home buyers insurance. However, all of the plans I can find last for up to 6 months and you don’t seem to be able to extent it. The vendor hasn’t found an onwards property yet and given the market and the potential that there could be a longer chain, I do think the process would be over 6 months.
It also seems that the latest I can apply for insurance is within two weeks of instructing a solicitor. So I would need to apply soon rather than being able to wait until the vendor has an offer accepted on their onwards purchase.
Just wondering if there are any insurance plans that are over 6 months or options to extend or other suggestions from people in similar situations?
