Best tests for figuring out health risks?
My parents recently told me that my dad is not my biological father and I was donor conceived in the mid-80s when donors weren’t really screened for heritable health problems. Since I’m in my 40s and have children, I’m worried about not knowing half of my family health history. I made an appointment with my GP to see what testing might be available to me, but I was wondering if there are any direct to consumer tests people have found useful? I’m not sure I want to know who the donor was, so I’m trying to figure out how much I can learn through genetic tests for health conditions alone.
