I had my Mohela student loan balance forgiven through PSLF in May 2025 (so thankful), but I am asking this on behalf of a friend who just got his loans out of default and will continue repayment soon:

Aidvantage is his servicer, and since I had Mohela, I don’t necessarily know much about how things work (or don’t) over at Aidvantage. If my friend wants to get on IBR, should he apply at studentaid.gov or fill out the paper application and upload to Aidvantage? Which is the most efficient route, in most people’s experience? Thanks for your consideration!
