Hello everyone in this sub. I wanted to share a situation that's holding me back from setting up a permanent altar in my house. It turns out that my family isn't very tolerant of beliefs other than Jesus, the cross, and the Virgin Mary, so I know that if I set up an altar to Santa Muerte in my room, it could cause problems.

I would like to know if Santa Muerte would mind if I built a hidden altar, in a box that remains closed or on a shelf with doors. The idea is that she won't be seen so that she won't be despised or mistreated. I wouldn't want her to feel threatened or unwelcome.
