December recommendations
I am coming to London solo in the beginning of December for 8 days, this is my second time visiting. I work as a designer in theatre in NYC (and live there) and would love recommendations for shows to see that are not necessarily the big ticket/big draw shows. If it played in NYC I probably already saw it, however I am not against experiencing an American show with a London/European crowd- last visit to London I saw Slave Play which generated some excellent conversations with my seat mates as well as in the pub after.
I know it’s a ways out, I would really appreciate any recommendations as I am a planner, and some of the best shows I saw last time were from conversations at the intervals (I saw Operation Mincemeat that way). Best part of coming solo is no compromises on what to see 😉
Per the rules- shows I loved - Operation Mincemeat, Hadestown, Slave Play, John Proctor is the Villain, anything Oscar Wilde (LOVED the National’s revival of Importance of Being Ernest), Every Brilliant Thing, Into the Woods, Fat Ham (if it’s a Shakespeare adaptation I am always interested!)
Much thanks in advance!
