VBA Appreciation Post
Am I the only one who think that VBA employees are under appreciated?? My impression from dealing with the VBA is that they are highly skilled professionals who are trying their best to provide the compensation to the veterans who deserve them. They can’t obviously approve every claim. They are bound by law and VA regulations relative to the compensation that they can approve.
I have submitted 4 claims so far with minimal evidence. The VBA employees did the research into my medical and service records, schedule C&P exams, and ultimately rule in my favor in 3 of those claims.
I think many people fail to realize that the VBA has a duty to protect the compensation program that we all rely on. The American people will not continue to support this program if there is a perception that all veterans get a piece of the pie whether or not they are actually disabled. The VBA has to make sure veterans who receive benefits deserve them.
Do overworked VBA employees miss a piece of evidence sometimes? Yes. That will happen when an organization processes millions of claims of millions of veterans. That said, they are trying their best and I think it’s time we show some appreciation.
