I keep finding shiny black rocks, wth are they?
Located in Central Iowa, US. I keep finding them in my flowerbed, roughly 10 inches deep usually. I originally thought it was just black slag glass, but there are never any bubbles(?). The pieces I've found today have lines and/or white spots. I finally found a thinner piece so I can easily shine a light through it, but all of the pieces look like this with a light, even if just at the edges.
The last image I also found today, closer to 12 inches deep.
My house was built in 1924, I asked the neighbors and she knew the original owner, and said that the previous owner had a lot of rocks in the landscaping but not black chunks like I'm finding.
It's driving me crazy, someone please help me lol
