Worked a craft show this weekend. I make coin rings for folks, they pick out a quarter and I can make it into a ring for them in under 4 minutes, sized perfectly. This was my 4th time working this fair, it's small and in the middle of nowhere, and every year this Avon lady gives me the stink eye; has even accused me of "stealing her customers". She was supposed to not come back to the show after a previous incident, but someone new is running it and let her back in.
Today the cops showed up looking for me (day 2 of the craft show) and said they got a report of someone defacing currency. I have a print out/flyer of the actual law I keep on me at all times. The key word is "fraudulently" defacing. I am up front and honest that once I make a piece of jewelry, it can no longer be used as currency. They had a good laugh about it and actually bought a few rings off me. They scolded her a bit, but since it wasn't technically a false report, no other action can be taken. I just smile at her and never give a negative vibe. but god I can't stand her.
