My 1st Good Kid Concert!
Hey y'all! I wanted to share the story of my 1st ever Good Kid concert! So this past week was my best friend's birthday, and I decided a few weeks ago I wanted to take him to a GK concert out of state because we were both huge fans of their opener INOHA and my bestie loved Good Kid as well (I had never listened to any of their music). He told me he was down to go, but he also wanted to invite his brother because his brother was an even bigger GK fan.
So we made the almost 20 hour road trip (it was super fun) and decided that we wanted to get to the venue early so we could be at the barricade for INOHA. On the day of the concert, we accidentally got to the venue 4 hours before doors opened because I misread the post. So my bestie and I decided to walk around nearby the venue while his brother wandered off in a different direction because we had nothing else to do.
Both my bestie and I were wearing handmade shirts that had references to GK and INOHA, and a man came up to us and asked us if we were going to the show. We excitedly said "Yeah!" and then we explained how we made a road trip just to see this concert. The man looked shocked, but told us how awesome that was. He talked a bit about Good Kid and their tour so far before excusing himself so he could go get a drink and continue his book. After the man left, my bestie's brother came up to us with a bewildered look on his face. He said, "Guys, I think you were just talking to Michael from Good Kid..." My bestie and I looked at each other and I searched it up to confirm it and we were talking to him!!! We decided to go talk to him again and he was super sweet about it!! I did some card tricks for him and he even signed some things for us!
After that, my bestie, his brother, and I decided to join the line for the concert and met some awesome people and had some great conversations! Going into the concert I had no idea what to expect, but I had the absolute time of my life! While I wasn't a Good Kid fan going into this trip, the fans I met, the music and stage presence of the band, and meeting Michael made this one of the best concerts I've ever been too! I am totally a Good Kid fan now!
