Considering joining Rover. Any input is appreciated!

I’m currently a grad student taking classes most weekday nights considering joining rover to pet sit, drop in, or walk pets during the day. I’m currently employed as a clinic manager. however, we are so short staffed that I am the only employee left at the clinic. the other 3 employees left due to school and commute reasons. I alone am handling the tasks of 4 employees for both our providers along with training/onboarding/interviewing. It’s getting too stressful for me to handle and I’ve been dropping the ball with my studies.

I am considering rover because I love pets, and to be honest, they’re not as mean and entitled as some patients showing up to clinics can be 😅. I also think it’s a better fit and less demanding for me, as my current job has started to affect my health because of the stress. The one thing holding me back is I’m not sure how much demand there is for rover services, and if I’d be able to make a similar amount to what I am making currently. I pay for school on a payment plan which is $2k monthly. As a clinic manager, I’m currently making $30/hr working 25hrs a week. I’m willing to take in less income, I just mostly need this to be able to cover my monthly school expense.

With your experiences, is there a demand for rover services? Or is it too overly saturated? I’m looking for any advice and open to any suggestions or thoughts!
