I have been having a pretty hard time not only getting interviews, but also figuring out the best way to prepare for them in the current market. I have mostly been cold applying, but I want to make sure I am actually ready when interview opportunities do come up.
For those of you who have recently been getting interviews for new grad SWE roles, what kinds of questions or interview formats have you been seeing? Has it mostly been LeetCode style interviews, debugging rounds, system design?
Also, what has your preparation strategy looked like and what do you feel has helped the most?
For context, I graduated in December 2025 with a CS degree and have been applying primarily to new grad software engineering roles.
