New Dark Orchestral / Trailer Music Composer on Bandcamp - Does It Still Make Sense for This Genre?

Hey everyone,
I’m Thomas Edwards I am a composer creating epic dark orchestral and cinematic trailer music inspired by dark fantasy, villains, apocalypse themes, and powerful storytelling.

I recently started building my Bandcamp page and I honestly wanted to ask people here who actively use the platform:

If anyone interested you can find me here https://thomasedwardsmusic.bandcamp.com/

Does Bandcamp still make sense for cinematic/orchestral composers today?

Most of my music sits somewhere between trailer music, dark orchestral, hybrid cinematic, villain themes, and emotional apocalyptic soundtracks. I care much more about reaching the right listeners than chasing algorithms or viral numbers, so Bandcamp feels interesting to me because of the more dedicated community around music.

At the same time, I know this niche is very specific, so I’d genuinely love honest opinions from artists and listeners here:

  • Do people actually discover new cinematic artists on Bandcamp?
  • Is it good for building a loyal audience in niche genres?
  • What worked for you personally?
  • Anything I should avoid as a new artist there?

Would really appreciate honest feedback from experienced users here.
Thank you.
