Frustrated with Google Photos, should I switch to Proton?

Google Photos is great until you decide to backup your photos on another device, then it becomes a nightmare to navigate. Downloading a batch is nearly impossible as you are required to wait forever, and if the system decides the file is too large the download will fail halfway through. I've probably wasted 15 hours just trying to backup my own photos.

Is Proton drive usable enough that I can access my files when I want them?

Just tried Gemini pro after being on Claude Pro for a bit, and boys you need to switch to Claude.

I've been frustrated with Claude because I've been running into a lot of limits with its search and web browsing functions, and its inablilty to generate images, so I switched to Gemini today to try it out.

Immediately I can tell you that I have made a mistake. Gemini at its best is like using Claude on its worst days. And the image generation is so frustratingly terrible. Even the pro models can't do basic edits.

Im going back to Claude.

Edit: it seems like the Gemini apologists seem to fall onto two camps.

  1. "Gemini gives me 5tb of storage and YouTube premium!"

  2. "Claude is so expensive per token and Google is more cost effective and I don't use up my daily usage."

Both of these seem to be agreeing that Gemini is a worse model, but for reasons unrelated to quality they aren't willing to leave. I won't argue with those reasons, Claude just does what I want effectively and with minimal corrections or headaches.

Question about using Midi for click track and to sync guitar pedals.

So I've been toying with Midi on my laptop, syncing my Hologram Microcosm to a specific BPM and using it for a click track through Ableton.

Has anyone done something similar with a phone and an app DAW?

Im also wondering if its common to have a laptop on stage controlling each song.
