Up until a year ago, Rachel Duval had a life she was very content with: a wonderful husband, a lovely daughter. A farm to call their own in the rural town of Pasir, with fertile soil and quiet pastures. Axedia, however, can be a cruel place. Even for the innocent. Or perhaps especially for the innocent. A party of marauding mercenaries killed Rachel’s family while she was away and put her farm to the torch. After spending months in a grieving stupour Rachel decided to end her life and join her husband and child. Fate had different plans. She happened upon a pendant that mysteriously connected her to an ancient warrior called the Silverbird. This connection gave her the strength to live with renewed purpose. Now, Rachel seeks to track down the mercenary company that ruined her life while her connection to the Silverbird deepens, ignorant of the grand designs that got her into this mess and envelop her still.
