ISO last-minute SoCal camping spot
I was originally supposed to work over Memorial Day weekend, but just found out I can actually be a free little bird. Now I’m hoping to get out camping + hiking with my doggo.
I know reservations are probably super limited this last minute, but figured I’d ask here in case anyone has recommendations for cool spots. I’m newer to solo camping and haven’t done dispersed camping before, so I get a little overwhelmed trying to figure out where to look.
I’m based in Los Angeles and willing to drive a decent amount if it’s worth it! Would love somewhere dog-friendly with good hiking and a peaceful vibe.
Also open to general camping/hiking recs since one of my goals this year is to get outside more :) I was maybe looking into Idyllwild at the end of June, but read there can be tonnnns of mosquitoes. Appreciate any tips and recs <3 :)
