Best streaming setup for parents in Ireland?
Hi! My older parents are spending the summer at home in Ireland and I’m trying to simplify the TV setup for them at my uncle’s house.
We’re thinking of bringing over an Apple TV box from the US and using apps instead of dealing with the existing Saorview/Sky setup that currently involves two remotes and apparently requires an electrical engineering degree to operate 😂
Main things they watch:
- The Late Late Show / Irish TV
- Live sports (Wimbledon, French Open, US Open, GAA, World Cup, etc.)
- Netflix / HBO Max / YouTube (I know these apps should work fine in Ireland)
- They already have GAA+, HBO Max, Netflix, and YouTube accounts.
Would getting RTÉ Player + Virgin Media Player cover most of this? Do people in Ireland actually use GAA+ while in Ireland or mostly just watch through regular TV channels? Also is NOW Sports worth it for tennis/live sports?
Trying to save myself a few chaotic FaceTime troubleshooting calls by setting it all up in advance 😅 Thanks!
