Temp Contract

I’m just wondering if your on a maternity leave or specific purpose contract what happens if you need to take maternity leave yourself. Just very confused what happens in that situation do you just not get paid when you go on maternity because you’re not on a permanent contract?

Return to Register

Hi, I’m currently in the process of returning to the teaching council register. I removed myself as I wasn’t in a position to address my conditions (Droichead) I’m now in a position to return to teaching and get it done. I applied mid May and my Garda vetting is in the 2nd stage. Can I still apply for jobs or will I have to wait until my registration is fully restored!

Special Education Teacher

Hi I’m currently on the job hunt (I’m post primary) I’ve seen slot of Special Education Teacher jobs going that don’t have SEN qualification in the job description. I have experience working with students with AEN but I’ve never had a full time table of it. Can I apply for these jobs or will I just leave them?

Teaching Job

Hi! I taught for one year after I graduated from college. I had a family death and another close family member got diagnosed with cancer and passed away so I found the year really tough and couldn’t complete my droichead. I took time out and got a job in HR in the Civil Service. I wanted to return last year but we were drawing down on our mortgage and our broker advised against switching jobs as our house took 6 months to close. I’m ready to return to teaching but worried I won’t be hired with the 2 year gap and not completing droichead. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
