I completed Step 1 and Step 2 after graduation while preparing full-time and did not do a house job during that period.

Would this be considered a gap year by residency programs?

Also, how realistic are my chances of matching in Internal Medicine without USCE?

Hi everyone, I’m an IMG graduate trying to apply for USMLE Step 1, but I keep getting a message saying I’m “not currently eligible to start a Step 1 registration.” on FSMB

My ECFMG status is accepted, and I’m also able to apply for Step 2 CK without any issues. This is my first time trying to register for Step 1.

Has anyone faced this situation where Step 1 shows not eligible but Step 2 CK works fine? What was the actual reason or fix in your case?

Any help would be appreciated.
