Why does Imagen get worse with every update?

I keep noticing the same trend: Imagen gets worse with every update.

Back in Banana 2 we already lost a ton of sharpness and got this weird smeared “soap” look instead. But now the almost daily updates are making the model completely lose understanding of poses, anatomy, spatial awareness, and composition.

And the style understanding somehow became EVEN WORSE.

I work in a hybrid cinematic/artistic style, and before, you could at least push Imagen toward it with enough prompt engineering. Now it feels impossible. The model constantly drifts into this broken pseudo-realism — oversharpened, awkward, ugly lighting, weird faces, stiff bodies.

I literally asked for a romantic cinematic scene and got something that looked like homeless people sitting on a roof.

HOW LONG ARE PEOPLE GOING TO STAY QUIET ABOUT THIS?

What’s frustrating is that Google still hasn’t reached the level of coherence that GPT image generation had YEARS ago. Not even close.

I’m tired of refining prompts for hours only for another update to completely break everything again. Mid shots look terrible, characters are inconsistent, eyes and anatomy are a mess, and “skin pores” are just noisy texture slapped onto plastic faces.

The model still doesn’t understand natural movement, subtle emotion, or organic body language. Everything feels stiff, angular, forced, and artificial.

At this point I spend more time fighting Imagen than actually creating art.
